E840 24V BATTERY MONITOR &
200A SOLID STATE SWITCH CONTROLLER
This unit was designed to monitor the voltage of a battery and control a Solid State Switch.
Once the battery voltage has dropped below 23.5V for more than 30 seconds, the lamp flashes and the piezo sounds.
If the battery voltage is not raised to 26V within 2 minutes the Solid State Switch is switched off disconnecting the supply for 4 minutes. During this period the lamp and piezo remain on continuously.
A “Start” connection is provided, which reconnects the supply and resets the timers. This can be activated by one of the following:
This 2 minutes, four minutes cycle is repeated until the battery voltage is raised to 26V.
1. The “W” terminal on the alternator. This connection ensures the alternator is charging the battery before the warnings are stopped and the supply is reconnected
2. A momentary switch to the battery positive. This immediately stops the warnings, reconnects the supply and resets the timers. If the battery voltage is not raised to 26V the supply will be disconnected as above.
3. The ignition switch. This immediately stops the warnings and reconnects the supply the engine does not need to be running. Continued use in this way will result in a flat battery.
4. If the “start” connection is not used the supply will be reconnected when the battery voltage reaches 26V.
